WHAT WE BELIEVE

STATEMENT OF FAITH
THE BIBLE

Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another.  Revealing truth, correcting our mistakes and encouraging us with practical principles to live God’s way.

GOD

We believe in one God, existing in three distinct persons.  God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit; known as the Trinity.

Matthew 28:19, Romans 8:9-11, Hebrews 1:8-10, I John 5:8 (NKJV)

JESUS

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, God made flesh, born of virgin, lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the redeeming sacrifice for the sins of humanity.  Crucified upon a cross, rising bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven.

Matthew 1:18-23, John 1:1, Acts 1:9,  Romans 1:3-4, Colossians 1:15, 2:9

HOLY SPIRT

We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit, His indwelling and outpouring upon the life of a Christian enabling us to live an effective and godly life.

Mark 1:10, John 15:26, 16:7-14, Acts 1:8, 2:1-4, Romans 8:9-11, Ephesians 1:13-14

SALVATION
We believe that salvation is through Christ alone. The shed blood of Jesus provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin.  Salvation is based upon confession of belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ

Matthew 1:21, Luke 1:68-69, John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 1:18, Ephesians 2:8-10

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.  It is fully relevant for humanity today to live as God intended.

Matthew 22:29, John 5:39, Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, Hebrews 1:1-2

THE CHURCH

We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus is the head.  The purpose of the church is to worship God, encourage and edify those in membership and fulfil the great commission, preaching the word, making disciples, and demonstrating the love of God.  We believe in the importance of scriptural practices; water baptism, taking communion, teaching the word, prayer and fellowship.

Matthew 16:18-19, Acts 2:41-47, 1 Corinthians 7:17, Ephesians 1:22-23, 1 Peter 5:1-4
