Following the official handover of the building at the end of March 2025, refurbishment work began immediately as part of Phase 1. This initial phase focuses on addressing several critical issues to make the building safe, functional, and welcoming.  One of the first priorities was the roof, which had been leaking in multiple areas and required urgent repairs. Additionally, the main auditorium lacked heating due to a non-functional plant, necessitating a complete overhaul of the heating system.  Electrical systems throughout the building—including lighting, mains sockets, and distribution—were outdated and are currently being upgraded to meet modern standards. The toilet facilities are also undergoing major remodelling, with the men's toilets being relocated as indicated on the plan view drawings.  Across the building, flooring in all rooms is being replaced, while walls and ceilings are being repaired and finished to varying degrees depending on condition. Furthermore, many of the internal and external doors, windows, and fire exits are being renewed to improve safety, efficiency, and accessibility.
